Sicily is the main Italian island and the biggest of the Mediterranean Sea. It is located separated from the continent by the Messina channel. The area has become one of the south jewelry thanks to its Vulcan areas and crystal Waters. The top sailing areas are Eolias or Eolicas islands located to the north of Sicily.
Begin the itinerary in Portorosa, the biggest yachting port in Sicily and one of the most exclusive in the Mediterranean sea.
Start your sailing towards Vulcano where you can visit the thermal baths “Laghetti Di Fanghi”. Moreover, Vulcano has wonderful bays to swim and snorkel. One of the best beach could be “Sabbie Nere” famous to have black sand.
Lipari is one of the biggest and crowdy islands in Eolias. You can find Monte Rosa to the north, where a spectacular White sand-beach and pumice rock is located. Between “Le Formiche” and “Punta La Grotticelle” you will find the opportunity to go snorkelling.
It is about a very attended island thanks to its relaxed and peaceful environment. One of the most fascinating attractions are the ruins of a town of the bronze era in Punta Milazzese. An excellent opportunity to practice all kind of water sports.
This island differs from the others in Eolias since its several water fonts have reached the volcanic fertile soil to be perfect to grow all kind of plants and trees, including vast extensions of strawberries, blackberries and Indian figs. More than 400 species of plants and trees grow in the sanctuary Madonna del Terzito or visit “Pollara” beach.
Sail towards Stromboli island, you will find a spectacular volcano here of more than 3.000 feet high. Stromboli is known to have excellent Neapolitan and Sicilian cucines including the traditional sweet cannoli.
Reaching the end of the tour, start sailing back to Portorosa where you will land by the morning.

General conditions
The climate is Mediterranean, with hot dry summers and mild wet winters. Distance from the sea and the height of the larger mountains are the causes of sharp differences in climate: on the coastal belt, the average annual temperature is around 19° C, which drops to 13° C inland. The precipitations are confined mainly to the winter months. Rainfall is low particularly on the low-lying ground round Catania and Gela.
